Policies: Food and Drink Policy

INTRODUCTION
The Cullom-Davis Library aims to provide not only resources but also a place for students and faculty of Bradley University to do research and study.  We acknowledge that lengthy periods of study or research are exhausting and that refreshments can help to ease the exhaustion.  However, the library is also a place that houses materials, both paper and electronic, and equipment for research.  These materials and equipment are susceptible to damage from food and drink.  This statement outlines the policy on food and drink in the library.  It establishes guidelines for both staff and patrons to ensure that the collection and equipment are protected from damage.

POLICY
There is absolutely no food and/or drink in any area near computers, in Special Collections, or in the Music Resource Center.  All food and drink in those areas will be taken away.  Drinks are allowed elsewhere in the library as long as they are in a can or a container with a lid.  Snack items (e.g. chips, cookies, candies, etc.) are also allowed elsewhere in the library.  Other food items can be consumed in the Break Room on the first floor by the vending machines.  There is one basic rule for food in the library: If it doesn't smell (e.g. fast food, pizza, etc.), it is legal.

GUIDELINES
In order to protect the materials and equipment that are housed in the Cullom-Davis Library from damage related to food and drink, the following guidelines are to be followed:
