Computer Hardware and Software in the Library
Most Library computers are networked and have basic software (such as Internet browser, Microsoft Office, Notepad/Wordpad, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Telnet, etc.) and have access to library online resources. Please see the following for the location of other kinds of software and hardware.
- CD-RW. On two PCs in Library Lab, and three PCs in Reference area (LIBREF 10, 13, 14)
- DVD. On most PCs in Library Lab and Reference area, as well as on laptops. There are also two TV/DVD combo sets by the Reserves Desk.
- Macintosh. 6 Apple Power Macs are located in the Library Lab.
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Library Lab, Laptops, and Reference area.
- PowerArchiver. Library Lab and Laptops.
- Printer, laser. Two public laser printers are located by the Library Lab and by the Reference area. Library Lab computers and most Reference/Atrium area computers are connected to either one.
- Scanner. By Email Bank near the Reserves Desk.
- SPSS. Library Lab.
- USB ports. On most PCs in Library lab and Reference area, as well as on laptops.
- Zip drive. On LIBREF 10 in Reference area.
