Legal Information

The Cullom-Davis Library has legal materials to support curricula but is not a full-scale law library. Legislative materials, state and federal statutes, and state and federal regulatory materials are received as depository items. In addition, the library purchases finding aids, annotated statutes, The Northeastern Reporter, and some subject-specific reporter series, such as Education Law Reporter and Media Law Reporter, as well as LexisNexis Academic online which includes law reviews, laws, regulations, and court decisions.

If you are looking for Illinois laws or regulations, federal laws or regulations, or legislative history information for Illinois or the United States there is a good chance that we will have what you are looking for.

If you are looking for legal cases, we will have them only from the following jurisdictions:

  • U.S. Supreme Court
  • Illinois Supreme Court
  • Illinois and other cases reported in The Northeastern Reporter
    (Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, New York, & Ohio)
  • Cases that are reported in one of the subject-specific reporter series
